Class Counseling

Following the best practices recommendations put forth by the American School Counselor Association, the school counselor meets with each class once a month between the months of September - April beginning in PK4. Whole group counseling addresses developmentally appropriate social-emotional needs of students in order to support their academic growth. In addition, whole group counseling also supports the executive functioning skills teachers work on in the classroom, including, but not limited to time management, motivation, planning, self-control, attention, and organization skills. The whole group counseling program coordinates and collaborates with homeroom teachers in order to support the needs of students every school year, adapting the whole group counseling lessons accordingly.
