Help our teachers have the best year yet!

It's time to order school supplies! We will be using schooltoolbox.com again this year for a fast and easy school supply experience. Orders are shipped directly to your home, and customized orders are available if your student would like extra/additional supplies. Grades with multiple classes will have the same list; therefore, you do not have to identify a teacher to order supplies. Teacher welcome letters will still be mailed the first week of July. If you choose not to order through school toolbox, you can click the list for your child's grade and purchase those items at a store of your choice. All supplies are due at school during our Come and Go event which will take place on Thursday, August 4th from 3:00 - 6:00.

One of our aspirations at ACS is that every student develops a servant’s heart and finds joy in serving others. Our students learn from an early age that they can help make a difference in the world. We have community service projects for all grades, and a buddy program to help reinforce the value and importance of giving of one’s time, talents and gifts. In addition to classroom service projects, all students participate in various charitable events throughout the year.

One of our most successful and long-standing service projects is our monthly Jeans for Green fundraiser. Held on the last Friday of the month, students may wear blue jean shorts, pants, skirts, or skorts for a $1 donation to charity. Each month a different class receives this money for their charity group. Charities are subject to change based on needs in our community, society, etc. The following charities were supported through Jeans for Green: 
MS Blood Services, Operation Christmas Child, MS College Dyslexia Research, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Golden Triangle Regional Homeless Coalition, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, Catholic Relief Services. 

Other service projects held throughout the school year include Beta Club fundraisers supporting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, St. Vincent de Paul (Just Walk), and in-kind donations to Global Connections. School-wide service projects were also held for in-kind donations throughout this year benefitting The Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, Helping Hands (290 boxes of cereal!), and St. Joseph's Catholic Church food pantry. 

This year, through various service projects, ACS students have raised over $15,000 for charities!

The ACS middle school students will be performing their much anticipated musical, Alice in Wonderland on April 28th and 29th. Students have been preparing and practicing for the musical all year, and they are finally ready for their musical debut! Directed by Celsie Staggers and student led, you don't want to miss it!

Annunciation Catholic School will be hosting a Look and See for prospective families on March 8th from 4:30 - 6:00. This is an informal open house where the interested parties can ask questions, meet the staff, etc. Private tours are offered daily by appointment.

January 30th - In Our Parish – THE PANCAKE BREAKFAST HAS BEEN CANCELED – due to the rise in Omicron cases, we have made the decision to cancel this event. If you have purchased online tickets, we will refund your original payment method.

January 31st - In Our Community – cereal donations needed

February 1st - In Our Nation - Parade

February 2nd - In Our Parents, Volunteers and Donors

February 3rd - Grandparents' Day HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 10th – please help us inform your child’s grandparents of the change in plans for this event.

February 4th - In Our Students – Field Trip to the Malco – Please check your child’s backpack for a field trip form. We need this completed and returned ASAP!

February 5th – 10:00 – 12:00 Open House for Prospective Students

Please join us for our Open House for prospective families on Saturday, February 5th from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Open House is an excellent time to visit our school and meet our staff. Spots will fill up quickly for the 2022-2023 school year. You don't want to miss it!

Each year, 6th grade students complete a research project on a canonized saint of their choosing. They work on this project for several weeks combining skills and knowledge learned in ELA, Social Studies and Religion. This collaborative project is then presented during All Saints Mass to family, friends, and lower grades. We were so honored to welcome Bishop Kopacz for this year's Hall of Saints Mass.

Red Ribbon Week is a national initiative to eliminate drugs and bully among school aged children which will carry into adulthood! We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week on October 25th - 29th with a different theme each day:
Monday - Wear Red from Head to Toe
Tuesday - Dress from a Different Decade
Wednesday - Wear PJs
Thursday - Bring a donation for the humane society
Friday - Wear Halloween costumes for Trunk or Treat
